8:21 am - A warning:

Ok, just to let you all (all meaning "both" lol) There's a snowstorm a-headin' our way. It's supposed to hit tonight (Mon) and tomorrow, we're only supposed to get an inch of snow. I'm still planning on having the D&D Character Making Jam (it's official title, lol) but it depends on the snow. We should be ok for it, but if it gets too bad, I may make Caroline stay over the night and I'll take her to school the next morning. But, like I said, we should be fine. Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

okey dokey... i got most of the deities up yesterday. all of the 'greater deities' anyway. i just have to make the lesser deities. i'll probably make an elven pantheon, a dwarven pantheon, a dragon pantheon, and other random lesser deities. but yep. anyhoo... i'll be back with more gods later.

okie dokie, here are the male deities.


(Lord of Light, One-eye)
Greater Deity
Symbol: Lance with white roses entwined
Home Plane:
Alignment: Lawful Good
Portfolio: Light, Good, Honour
Worshippers: Paladins, Knights, good fighters
Cleric Alignments: LG, LN
Domains: Law, Good, Strength
Favoured Weapon: Lance

Sarles is depicted as a handsome man with one eye missing, golden hair, holding a lance, and wearing pure white armor. He resembles a typical paladin. He lost his eye when dueling Zhent, his archenemy and rival, but took Zhent's heart in return. He is honour-bound, and does not tolerate evil. Embedded in his forehead is a ruby in the simple shape of a lance.

Dogma -
Sarles lets loose his wrath on all evil. He despises it, and seeks to stamp it out everywhere. Fallen paladins are objects of contempt for him. Despite his rather cold and strict exterior, Sarles can be quite empathetic, and helps those who wish for salvation.

Clergy and Temples -
Sarles' order of paladins and knights, the Order of the White Rose, are found nearly everywhere, trying to convert the population to his ways. There are very few cities where they are not found. His clerics have a special alliance with the clerics of Aimliona, who they respect, as Aimliona is Sarles' wife.

Adhemar is seen with black hair, pale skin with a greenish tinge, and ice blue eyes. His fingers are webbed, and he has gills on his throat. He is also depicted carrying a harp, his favourite instrument. In his forehead, a sapphire in the shape of a shell is embedded.

Dogma -
Adhemar is a very benevolent god, and very chaotic. He protects the sea elves and coastal cities from much of Nain's wrath. He does his part to destroy evil, using most of his power to harm Nain.

Clergy and Temples -
Adhemar is often worshipped alongside Nain, though the two hate each other, they are each protectors of the sea. The sea elves worship him primarily, and Erulastiel secondarily. Bards who worship him often wear blue cloaks or shell necklaces to honour him.

Baldarich is the patron of dwarves, who he created. He has long, flowing brown hair, and black eyes. He is barrel chested and is extremely strong. He is often depicted wearing armor, a shield, and a helmet, wielding his warhammer. In his forehead is an embedded emerald in the shape of a bear tooth.

Dogma -
Baldarich is a staunch defender of his people, who he values more than anything else. He remains alert any taint of evil in his people, and stamps it out if it gets carried away. He encourages his people to advance their race as much as possible.

Clergy and Temples -
Baldarich's clerics are charged with being the caretakers of the dwarven society. They are teachers, fighters, and historians. There is a temple to Baldarich in every dwarven commune, where a forge is kept, perpetually burning.

Igarol is the feared lord of death. He appears as a man, pale and handsome on one side, but dead and rotting the other. He was not always half-rotting, but he used half of his being to create Zhent a new heart. His hair is long and white, his skin is grey, and his eyes are completely black. In his forehead are three shards of amethyst, representing the three things he is feared for: death, poison, and disease.

Dogma -
Igarol is a neutral god, neither liking life, nor hating it. Those who follow him are usually over-zealous and death loving maniacs, who do little to promote his beliefs, and he cares little for them. But he cares very deeply for the lost souls of the dead, ghosts trapped in the material plane, and seeks to bring them all to the underworld.

Clergy and Temples -
Those who worship Igarol are either in cults, where they perform cruel sacrifices that he scorns, or, there are a few who do try to send ghosts to the underworld, where they can rest. Many undead worship him, mostly vampire covens. Many assassins say a little prayer to him and his counterpart Rhindani so ensure a mission will proceed without fail.


(the Jester, Lord of Masks)

Symbol: Peacock
Home Plane:
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Portfolio: Air, rogues, music, humour, tricks
Worshippers: Gnomes, kender, rogues, bards, actors
Cleric Alignments: CE, CN, CG
Domains: Air, Chaos, Trickery, Luck
Favoured Weapon: Throwing stars

Faraji is the trickster god of the gnomes, and considered the patron of the fine arts. He is either depicted as a black haired adrongynous man, impeccably dressed in bright colours, or a human man with brown hair, wearing a mask decorated with dark feathers, wearing black clothes. His forehead has gold, silver, and onyx embedded into it, in the shape of a mask.

Dogma -
Faraji is constantly cheerful, and encourages his followers to be the same, even in the face of adversity. He enjoys scaring his foes, wine, women, and song make him happy, and he has been described as the most lecherous of the pantheon. He is often targeted by Sarles, who he constantly tricks or plays pranks on, which his followers take upon themselves to do the same to the Order of the White Rose.

Clergy and Temples -
He has very few temples or shrines dedicated to him, but those who do follow him, do their best to follow his example. Many actors and bards credit him for their talent.


(the Heartless One, Lord of Fire)

Worshippers: Fallen paladins, evil clerics, evil fighters

Zhent is the opposite of Sarles, and the twin brother of Irihapeti. He is depicted as a handsome but gaunt man with black hair, deeply tanned skin, and green eyes. He also appears as a blue dragon like his sister, but not nearly so often. He took Sarles' eye in a duel, but lost his heart as well. He was brought back to life by Igarol, who fabricated a new heart from himself. A yellow crystal forms the shape of a scorpion tail in his forehead.

Dogma -
Zhent is evil, but demands that his paladins follow honour and law. He believes that the world is dark and bloody, and only the strong survive.

Clergy and Temples -
There are a few shrines to him in the desert, but the people rarely beg for mercy, as he typically does not. His few clerics are often driven out of cities, as they want nothing to do with him or his power.

! - There are 12 deities total, and I've seperated them by elements (air, water, fire, earth, light, dark), so that there's 2 for each, one male, one female. i also wrote their profiles the same way the D&D books did. i haven't figured out the whole 'home plane' things yet, i have to write out and name those. anyhoo... onto the female deities.


(the Queen of Heaven, the Matriarch)
Greater Deity
Symbol: Cherry blossom
Home Plane:
Alignment: Neutral Good
Portfolio: Light, Good, Motherhood
Worshippers: Healers, Good Dragons, mothers, good half-elves, any seeking protection from evil
Cleric Alignments: LG, NG, CG
Domains: Good, Sun, Healing, Protection

Aimliona is revered by nearly all. She is a kind, empathetic goddess, holding sympathy for everyone (even her archrival Rhindani), and never thinking ill thoughts to anyone.
In her natural form, Aimliona is a beautiful woman (with half-elf features), with long red hair, violet-blue eyes, and pale skin. On her forehead, there is a ruby in the shape of a cherry blossom, her symbol.

Dogma -
Aimliona is a kind goddess, and though not approving of evil, she does not force good on others. She believes that everyone should choose their own path, whether for good or evil. She has limitless empathy for the downtrodden, the dispossessed, and the helpless.

Clergy and Temples -
Aimliona has many clerics, and many temples. Women traditionally follow Aimliona more than men. Her clerics are healers, and many take a vow promising that they shall never enter battle. Many set up convents, and spend their lives there, promoting the cause of good.


(the Sky Empress)

Nesseldë appears as a lovely winged elf with silver hair, and black wings, wearing armor of silver and gold, and a helmet with wings adorned. Her eyes are completely golden in colour, and her skin has a golden sheen. She is a very strict goddess, and has very definite rules. On her forehead are silver and gold cresents, surrounding a disc of onyx, representing the moon, sun, and the sky.

Dogma -
Nesseldë is a very strict goddess, and those of her followers that disobey or commit evil deeds in her name, will be punished. She is a very strong goddess, and her moods shift easily.

Clergy and Temples -
She is traditionally only worshipped by the winged elves, though some dragons worship her, and she has a very small but strong sect of valkyrie that follow her.


(Mother of the Elves, Goddess of the Woodlands)

Erulastiel is revered by all of the elven nations and races, though they each depict her differently. To the grey elves, she a beautiful golden haired elf with green eyes; to the wild elves, she has brown hair with blue eyes; and to the sea elves, she has white hair with violet eyes. Erulastiel is the protector of all forests, and protects everything within them. On her forehead, an emerald in the shape of a leaf is embedded into her skin.

Dogma -
Erulastiel encourages her people to keep the balance between good and evil. She also protects the forests and woodlands from destruction or overuse. She is not hesitant to go to battle, and all of the elven nations are trained in the art of warfare. Many of her clerics have emeralds embedded into their foreheads, or simply have the shape of a leaf cut into their foreheads, to respect their goddess.

Clergy and Temples -
Erulastiel's clerics typically wear blue if they are grey elves, and green if they are wild elves. There are not many sea elf clerics. Her clerics serve as teachers, diplomats, and generals in the elven communities. They train others in combat, woodlore, and magic. There is typically a temple to Erulastiel in every elven community, with the exception of the sea elves, who worship the sea god Adhemar more.


(Sand Queen, Mistress of Magic)

Irihapeti appears primarily in two forms: one as a blue dragon, and the other as a young woman with black hair, deeply tanned skin, green eyes, and clawlike fingers. She is the primary magic and dragon deity. Embedded in her forehead is a yellow crystal in a shape of a diamond.

Dogma -
Irihapeti is a chaotic goddess, though she enforces law on others. Despite her seeming hazardous personality, she is a kind goddess, and prefers balance to strictly good or strictly evil, unlike her brother, Zhent. She is always eager to increase a magic user's magical power, assuming they have caught her in a good mood.

Clergy and Temples -
Irihapeti is commonly worshipped in the desert, where she can be called upon to stop Zhent from razing a city down in a sandstorm. She is worshipped by mages, and cleric/mages. All dragons pay homage to her, as she is their creator.


(Lady of the Deep)

Symbol: Eel wrapped around a trident
Home Plane:
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Portfolio: Water, Evil, malice, hate, beauty
Worshippers: mermaids, evil sea creatures, evil mages
Cleric Alignments: NE, CE
Domains: Evil, Water, Beauty
Favoured Weapon: Spear

Nain is the evil goddess of the sea. She is seen as a mermaid, with beautiful features, and long, flowing green hair, and iridescent scales, but when angry she is hideous to look at. She is an unsympathetic goddess, short tempered, and cruel. She often fights with her counterpart Adhemar, who she holds in contempt. In her forehead, a sapphire in the shape of an eel is embedded in her skin.

Dogma -
Anyone living near the sea always pays their respects to Nain, for fear of their life being ended by one dreadful storm. She believes everyone living near the sea owes their life to her. She loves to kill the good, and squash people's dreams. She is also a very self-absorbed goddess, and enjoys compliments from everyone.

Clergy and Temples -
She has very few land-living clerics, as no one wants to catch her attention. Most of her followers are the mermaids and sirens, who have recieved her unpleasent personality.


(Lady of Murder, the Spider Queen)
Greater Deity
Symbol: Spider
Home Plane:
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Portfolio: Darkness, Drow, evil, murder
Worshippers: Drow, evil fighters, evil assassins
Cleric Alignments: CE, CN, NE
Domains: Chaos, darkness, evil
Favoured Weapon: Whip

Rhindani is the archrival of Aimliona, and stands for everything that is the opposite of her. She is seen as either a beautiful female drow, or as a drider with a female drow's head. On her forehead, a shard of amethyst is embedded into her forehead in the form of a hourglass.

Dogma -
Rhindani is intolerant of failure, and constantly turns her people against one another. She believes that males are low-born, and should submit to females, no matter what. And if they disobey, they should be killed. She seeks to have her people control the whole of the underdark, and to eventually destroy the other races of the world, notably the surface elves.

Clergy and Temples -
All of Rhindani's clerics are female, as she will not accept males. Most evil assassins and fighters (whether drow or not) pay her respect, and always request her aid in helping an assassination or battle go well.

Ok, so some news. Liz may be joining our D&D game...she's a big fan of it, been playing for 13 years (o_O). She'll be in the same boat though, with new characters and all that stuff. And something very cool: she knows how to make characters extremely well, so she'll be helping a lot with that, methinks. But yeah, just thought I'd let ya know. If you have a problem, lemme know.

The game, unfortunately, has been put on hold for a while. Too much life, blech. But with Louisa's surgery and all, there wasn't much time to work on it, but she's back to doing all sorts of stuff with it, so yay!

But yeah, I think that's about it.

just to get it all cleared away, if you guys could put a profile of your characters up. you don't need to put the strength, charisma, or anything, just general info. you can follow this basic layout, or make your own:

Ok, so here's what I know about characters. We have a fighter-elf (eleanor's), a kender/thief (eleanor's), a fallen paladin with healing spells (mine), and a cleric that fights using magic (mine). So far, all girls. Which is fine. Caroline, if you can, try to make your characters before the first session. If you don't know how to, can you ask Monica or someone? We're just basically doing it by the book, aside from height, weight, age, and that stuff. All the stats for battle are normal. If you can't, don't worry about it, and we can make yours that first night. Just have some ideas about race, class, etc. All that fun stuff.

Just thought I'd give that quick update.
